By highway
There are 5 main highways across Suzhou; they are Yanjiang highway, Hu-Ning Highway, Sujianghang highway, Raocheng highway and Husuzhe highway. Among these highways, Hu-Ning highway’s traffic mileage is 491 kilometers and it is the most important highway in Suzhou.
By railway
Suzhouis the starting and terminus station for five trains from and to Beijing, Shanghai, Nanjing and Jiangxi Province everyday. The other trains are bound for Beijing from Shanghai.
To Beijing: There are 5 trains from Suzhou to Beijing everyday. The departure times are 01:58, 18:03, 18:14, 20:23, 21:38 and 23:12.
To Shanghai: 21 trains are available from 03:16 to 21:07 at Hu-Ning Railway station.
Long distance passenger transportation
There are 4 transportation stops in Suzhou city. They are Suzhou North Passenger Transportation Stop, Suzhou South Passenger Transportation Stop, Suzhou West Passenger Transportation Stop, and Suzhou Centre Passenger Transportation Stop. The stops provides long distance bus transport.
By water carriage
As mentioned before, Suzhou locates on the south shore of Yangtze River. This cause Suzhou has advantages to build harbor and develop water carriage. Suzhou has three harbors for water carriage; these harbors play an important role on Suzhou economic development.
Subway
Suzhouis planning to hold its own subway, and the No.1 subway route will open to traffic in 2012. There are 9 routes will be built to make up a subway network. Further more, No.2, No.4 and No.8 subway routes will connect to Shanghai and Wuxi’s subway.

Among the Four Most Famous Gardens in China, the Humble Administrator Garden and the Lingering Garden of Suzhou take two.
